Looking to make the most of your villa stay with Villas Hvar?
A villa stay on Hvar island can be as easygoing or planned as you’d like. What changes the experience is not only the house you end up choosing but how your time is spent around it. And with the right support, the island opens up without much effort.

Our role is not to overfill your schedule. We’re here to make sure everything you do feels well-timed and properly arranged. The difference is subtle but clear: you spend less time organising and more time actually being on Hvar. Because that’s the whole point, right?
Start with the right arrival
A stay on Hvar begins well before you reach the villa. For our guests, arrival is handled with the same care as the rest of the week.

After landing in Split, a driver can meet you at the airport and take you straight to the marina. Within minutes, you are on a private speedboat, heading across the Adriatic on your own schedule. The crossing takes around 70 minutes, with the option to stop for a swim or cruise right at sunset.
Settle in, then let the villa work for you
Once you set foot inside, the villa becomes your base and the setting for much of what follows. We handle everything around how you want to spend your time.

A private chef can be booked for one evening or the entire stay. Menus are built around your preferences, from family-style plates on the terrace to multi-course dinners with wine pairings. Ingredients are sourced locally, prepared on site and served casually. When the evening ends, you won’t have to clean up.
Live music can also be organised in the villa, whether you prefer a traditional klapa group or a string quartet. It works equally well for a small celebration or simply as part of your evening.
Spend time at sea
Hvar is best experienced from the water, and a private boat day is usually where the week finds its flow.
We work with a small fleet of boats, including traditional wooden sailing yachts. One of them, MORO, is run by a local captain and is ideal for smaller groups. The itinerary or speed doesn’t matter here, because it’s all about time cruising along the coastline and hopping off where it feels right.

All charters are private and routes are adjusted to the day. You might head to the Pakleni islands, anchor in a tucked-away bay or spend the afternoon swimming and snorkelling before returning in the evening.
Go inland for a different side of the island
Hvar looks a bit different away from the coast. We organise guided days that move all eyes to the interior, including vineyards, olive groves and small family-run taverns (konobe).
Start with wine tastings at local estates to learn about the island’s grape varieties and production methods. From there, move to olive oil tastings, where the focus is on harvest and pressing techniques.

The day ends with a traditional peka meal, slow-cooked under an iron bell. It is simple food in places that are not set up for passing traffic. Transport, timing and bookings are all taken care of in advance.
Stay active, if that’s how you travel
There is also plenty for guests looking to stay active. Tennis courts, yoga sessions, Pilates and personal training can be set up at the villa or in selected locations across the island. Hiking routes are adapted to your level, whether that’s a short walk through lavender fields or a longer coastal climb.

On the water, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are a slower way to explore the coast. For something more technical, diving trips can be held with experienced instructors, covering caves, rock formations and wreck sites.
Massages and spa treatments are also an option, allowing you to balance active days with recovery without needing to leave your villa.
Explore the island on two wheels
Hvar’s interior is a dream for cyclists. Roads link villages, vineyards, olive groves and higher viewpoints across the island.
Private guided rides are based on your level and how you want to adventure through the day. Routes can line the Adriatic, cut inland through agricultural areas or climb towards more exposed terrain with wider vistas. A local guide joins you throughout to keep the pace and share stories.

Road, gravel or electric bikes are selected to match the route and are delivered directly to your villa. Stops can be built in for longer routes, especially if you plan on having lunch or a wine tasting.
Make space for family time
Hvar fits families well. We can hire a babysitter when needed. Children can join outdoor learning programmes such as the Field School of Hvar for a mix of nature and education.

Across the island, you’ll stumble upon beaches with shallow water, small aquaparks and open spaces where children can move freely.
Step into the island’s past
For something more grounded in local culture, we recommend a visit to Terra Arhaica in the village of Vrisnik.

This is a hands-on experience set in a traditional Dalmatian house. You learn how food was prepared, how tools were used and how daily life once worked here. It ends with a meal based on local recipes.
Or, you may opt for a cooking class and experiences centred around lavender or traditional desserts. It is a different pace to the coast and is worth setting time aside for.
Let it all come together
A week on Hvar works best when the details are handled early, leaving space to adjust once you arrive. We organise each part of the stay in advance but nothing is fixed beyond what needs to be. The idea is to have the right options in place.

Because that is what allows the week to feel well-planned without being structured. And likely why most of our guests return to the island already knowing how they want to spend their next Hvar holiday.
