If you want to get to know the Mediterranean as it once was, you should spend your vacation in an authentic Dalmatian stone house by the sea, surrounded by the gentle murmur of the town streets, the smell of fresh bread at dawn, grilled fish at noon and chard for dinner, watching relaxed passers-by along the waterfronts and even more relaxed boats rocking in the bay…

Villa Features

Horae is a stone house located in the heart of Stari Grad, a town 2400 years old. The villa itself has a rich history, as evidenced by some details dating back to the 15th century.

The villa covers 200m2 plus the roof terrace, which we especially like. But there are so many lovely and attractive aspects of the house that it would be an injustice to single out only the roof terrace… So, let's tackle them one by one.

You can reach the house via a promenade by the sea, located about 200 meters from the public town parking. Since the house is located in the old town, it does not have its own parking lot, of course.

In front of the house there is a small terrace where you can chill out whenever it suits you. The entrance to the house leads to the kitchen with a dining area approximately 25 m2 in size. Here you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a dishwasher, an oven, a refrigerator and a washing machine, as well as a dining table. There is also a small toilet on the ground floor.

We use the indoor staircase to get to the first floor of the house with two bedrooms, one with a matrimonial bed and one with 4 single beds or two bunk beds. On this floor, there is one bathroom with a shower tray and a toilet. The first floor covers about 25m2.

Let’s take the stairs further up to the second floor. There is a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a shower tray, a whirlpool bathtub, and a toilet. There is another small toilet on this floor as well.

The second floor boasts one of the most beautiful areas of the house in the high attic - the ceiling is lined with wood, with discreet lighting, and below it is a spacious and beautifully decorated living room with high-quality furniture and a fireplace dating back to the 15th century. We really enjoyed this space full of books and warm details. We felt as if we entered another and completely different dimension from the one we live in. A very fine experience.

The second floor covers about 125m2; the living room alone spread over 100m2. Just to note - all bedrooms and the living room are air-conditioned.

And now we finally come to the third floor of the house, that is, another living room, which can act as a bedroom if needed because it has a double sofa bed. It is located in another attic. It is 18m2 in size, has a basic kitchen, a small fridge, and a dining table.

This space extends to a 10m2 roof terrace with a charming view of the city's rooftops and green forests, a fireplace where you can prepare healthy Mediterranean food, and outside furniture to enjoy the fresh Mediterranean air.

Villa Horae is a dream vacation home, whether you are vacationing as a family or as a group of friends looking for a suitable vacation spot. It is located by the sea, walking distance to the beach, with all the town amenities a few steps away, in the center of a town that is neither too crowded nor too quiet, with splendid interiors dominated by wood and stone, and exuding the intimacy of your own home. There is no swimming pool, but considering the distance from the sea, you do not even need it. After all, swimming pools aren’t fans of sustainability and ecology, and we know you are. Another benefit of this villa is the fact that Horae is definitely value for money. If you are looking for the perfect home for the perfect vacation, you and Horae could be the perfect match.
