Villa Gambo Bay is a contemporary Mediterranean retreat where sea, silence and time meet. As the only private residence in the bay, surrounded by untouched nature and crystal-clear waters, it offers the rare feeling of having a bay to yourself - an invitation to slow down and simply be.

Welcome to Gambo Bay

Hidden within the protected bay of Mrtinovik on the eastern coast of Hvar, Villa Gambo Bay is the only private residence in the bay. Set on more than 15.000 m² of private Mediterranean landscape, where fragrant pine trees meet the Adriatic, it offers a rare sense of seclusion, tranquillity and an uninterrupted connection with nature.

The final kilometre follows an unpaved road through untouched countryside. It is not simply the way to the villa, but the beginning of leaving the outside world behind.

Originally built in 1906 and recently refurbished in a contemporary style, the villa offers approximately 200 m² of elegant living space, thoughtfully designed for six guests, with the flexibility to accommodate up to twelve when required, thanks to three comfortable sofa beds—two located in the bedrooms and one in the lounge. The ground floor features a light-filled, minimalist living room opening directly onto the beachfront terrace, a fully equipped kitchen, an additional bathroom and a utility area leading to a second outdoor dining space surrounded by Mediterranean greenery. Here, life flows effortlessly between indoors and out, from slow mornings by the sea to long evenings beneath the stars.

Upstairs, three elegantly appointed, air-conditioned bedrooms each feature an en-suite bathroom with shower and television. Two bedrooms offer king-size beds (180 × 200 cm) with sofa beds, while the third features a queen-size bed (160 × 200 cm). One bedroom enjoys its own private entrance from the seaside, while the remaining two share a small entrance hall, making them equally suited to families or groups of friends seeking both togetherness and privacy.

The villa sits directly on the beach. It is not defined by what it offers, but by what it leaves behind: noise, crowds and urgency. There are no neighbouring houses, no roads and no promenade - only crystal-clear water, the scent of pine trees and the gentle rhythm of the sea. Mornings begin with coffee on the terrace, days unfold between swimming, reading in the shade and lingering lunches, while evenings bring spectacular sunsets and skies filled with stars.

Within the bay, the owners welcome visiting yachts to their small seasonal waterfront restaurant, adding a gentle sense of life to this protected natural setting. Villa guests may also arrange grocery shopping before arrival, deliveries of fresh local produce during their stay, or home-cooked Mediterranean meals prepared by the hosts, allowing every day to unfold effortlessly.

Here, luxury is measured in silence, in space, and in time. Because true luxury is not measured by what you add, but by what allows you to let go.

A Personal Note from the Owners

For us, Sućuraj is more than a destination, it’s a feeling. A small fishing village where life slows down, surrounded by crystal-clear sea, century-old olive trees and the authentic charm of Dalmatia.

Our favourite moments are the simplest: morning swims, evenings by the sea, the sound of waves and cicadas, and watching sailing boats arrive in the bay. As our grandpa Gambo says, "The bay takes you." Once you’re here, it’s easy to forget the rest of the world.

The house is just steps from the sea, making every day effortless. Children play freely on the beach, fresh fish arrives daily at the harbour, and within days you’ll feel less like a visitor and more like a local.

One of the things we love most is that, despite its peaceful setting, everything is within easy reach. Hvar Town is around 90 minutes away, while Korčula, the Pelješac wine region, Split and Dubrovnik are all perfect for memorable day trips before returning to the peace of our little bay.
