Adonis reminds us of two quite different movies, The Party (1968) and A Room with a View (1985) . If you come in the peak of the season, the party vibe will prevail. During the low season you’ll easily slip into the role of Helena Bonham Carter, and the beauty of Adonis will shine in full bloom.
Apartment Features
Adonis covers 120m2 plus 20m2 of terrace with a view to die for.
You’ll reach Adonis if you head from the Hvar Pjaca straight to Hotel Adriana and then stop by café Nautica – don’t jump into the sea to the left (despite the possible crowd), but go right to a little street where you’ll see a staircase to the right. After about 15 steps, you’ll enter a lovely traditional Dalmatian stone house, and after another staircase with about 20 steps, you’ll reach the second floor of the house – and Apartment Adonis. Adonis is a splendid mix of ancient traditional stone walls dating back to the 15th century furnished tastefully with modern designer furniture.
Opening the door of the Adonis, you’ll enter the so-called smart apartment – everything inside it is managed on a small screen located across the dining room table.
Adonis spreads comfortably on two floors. As soon as you enter, to the right you’ll see a spacious hallways, with windows overlooking the street on the left and doors to the toilette and the master bedroom to the right. The master bedroom has a matrimonial bed and an en-suite shower tray and wash basin.
The spacious hallway further leads to the living room equipped with a cozy three-seater and two-seater, a large screen LED TV, state of the art music system that streams internet radio or your favorite channels and playlist including pre-programmed lounge music.
Apart from the regular LED TV set, the living room has a much nicer set that is literally the window to the world. From that window you’ll enjoy the view of the old town core, the hustle and bustle of the town port, sleepy palm trees, lulling local boats… An absolutely better sight that the one the black box offers, if you ask us. Rumor has it that two Russians did not even leave the apartment for a whole week only because of this window. In front of it – to make the scenery absolutely perfect – there is a small poets’ table with two chairs, but it doesn’t matter if you use it to write prose instead of poetry.
If we go back down the hallway a few meters, we’ll enter the kitchen and the dining room area. By the way – the kitchen looks fantastic; one of the better kitchens beneath the Hvar sky. In short – it is a large open plan modern Italian designer kitchen, fully equipped with a Smeg stove and integral oven, large fridge with storage for wine & freezer with plenty of freezer space for ice, Bosch dishwasher and washing machine, fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and glassware. Large counter top has 5 high backed stools.
From the dining room area, a glass door leads you to the spacious terrace equipped with outdoor furniture for basking in the sun (or the wind and rain, as you like it) with an amazing view of the Hvar port. Whoever sails in, be it Beyonce, Demi or Cruise – you won’t miss them only if you’re concentrated.
From the terrace, we go back into the dining room; on the left, we’ll see a small storage room and next to it, a staircase leading to the upper floor. In the attic, there is another bedroom (French bed) and a bathroom with a shower tray and toilet.
What we like about Adonis (apart from the view and the location in low season) is that no expense were spared. The apartment has been furnished with high-end equipment; lovers of aesthetics will enjoy it, as will everyone who has an eye for details, finely tuned neutral hues, and fine materials. Ancient, bare stone walls dating back to the 15th century give it a special feel.
If location is everything, then Adonis is indeed in the middle of it all. This place will be an excellent choice for everyone who loves to be placed in the very center of the town and right by the sea. And since no one has it all – neither does Adonis, so forget about quiet holiday during the summer months because Adonis is located in the party area of the town. Cafes in Hvar are open until 2 a.m. Adonis is above the coffee bar and it will be very noisy until 2 a.m. But if you come in November – it will be very quiet…
